Reviews - Vivo Barefoot - The Shoe Of The Future
I have been searching, literally for years for a shoe that I can walk, run, dance and cycle in - that doesn't feel like I have an extra weight on my foot. Shoes, even sports shoes can be a drag - clumping them around when you're trying to throw some wicked moves in zumba... I might as well go barefoot!
And this is where a revelation has occurred dear friend. I have now come to the end of my quest. I need not look any further for the shoe that fits (another problem I find with practically ALL shoes - Clarks, Nike, DCs - they don't fit my foot perfectly - some are too wide, some are too narrow, some hurt, some pinch, some are too sweaty, too chunky, too hot...
Vivo Barefoot is the answer to all my shoe problems. I know this, because I have now been wearing them non-stop for three months and I breathe a sigh of relief when I take my shoes off at the end of the day - as it feels as if I have been barely wearing them at all.
I was lucky enough to find a pair of Vivos on ebay - I was the only bidder and managed to steal away a 'hardly worn' pair for £10.50.
And then I was sent a pair of Mary Jane pumps which needed a bit of wearing in, then the magic started to happen. Here is what I found.
1. I was able to dance, clamber over rocks, jog, walk and cycle with ease.
2. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
3. They look stylish enough for any occassion - even a wedding - but are completely practical.
4. Almost every woman who has chatted to me over the summer has asked me about my shoes. (It does feel good to know that they look lovely!)
5. Most importantly, the way I walk has been positively transformed.
And to expand upon my last point. Since I started wearing Vivo Barefoots, my posture has improved, I have taken a keener interest in exercising, as it's now so much more fun! The shoes are really light, extremely flexible and don't leave your feet all hot and sweaty even after an hour zumba class, burning up to 800 calories. The grip on the super thin, but puncture resistant sole is superb, enabling me to climb up some pretty rocky terrain with peace of mind.
This is it friend! I am never going back. No more searching around shoe shops for the perfect fit as these fit my size 6 feet perfectly. As for the winter? They make boots too! Imagine the pure excitement I felt when I discovered that!.
So look out for Terra Plana and Vivo Barefoot - and investigate the science behind WHY they are so fantastic for your feet.
But the good news doesn't stop there!
I wondered, on the off-chance, if they did Barefoot shoes for children - and they do! My daughter, aged four, was sent a pair - they are incredible! They are so light, yet strong and Maya delights in telling people about her barefoot shoes 'that feel like I am walking on grass'. She is pictured here wearing them, after an hour of climbing over rocks and stones at Clevedon! She chose this pair from Vivo Barefoot - no more Clarks for us - sorry! They are slightly dearer, but after watching this video, explaining why these are so good for a child's growing feet, I'd rather spend the extra tenner! There is no sign of wear and tear on the sole after two months of her running, jumping, scooting, biking and climbing in them.
And one more bit of good news. Vivo Barefoot include a vegan range.
Move your body! And make the switch - I love them and I think you will too!
